Terms of use

Version 2026-09-22 · in effect from 22 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and JodaEdu when you use jodaedu.com. The most important points — what we do and do not promise, how payments and refunds work, and how to avoid fraud — each have their own section below, and each starts with a one-line summary.

1What JodaEdu does

In short: We help you find programmes, prepare your application, send it to the university and follow it. The university decides.

JodaEdu is an admissions service. We publish programmes offered by Chinese universities, help you prepare and send your applications, collect the fees those applications require, and keep you informed until the university decides.

We are not a university and we are not part of the Chinese government. We do not issue admission letters, scholarships or visas.

2What we do not promise

In short: No one can guarantee admission, a scholarship or a visa — including us.

  • Admission is decided by the university alone. Sending an application through JodaEdu does not guarantee a place.
  • A scholarship shown on this site is the reduction the university has published for that programme. It is confirmed only by the university's admission letter, which is the document that counts if the two differ.
  • A visa is decided by the Chinese authorities. We cannot influence that decision.
  • Deadlines, prices and conditions are set by universities and can change. We show the figures we were given and the date we were given them, and we correct them as soon as we learn of a change.

Anyone who promises you guaranteed admission, a guaranteed scholarship or a guaranteed visa in JodaEdu's name is not speaking for us. Please tell us.

3Prices shown on the site

In short: The price is fixed on your application the moment you send it, and shown to you before you do.

Each programme page shows tuition, accommodation and fees as the university stated them. When you send an application, the figures shown to you at that moment are recorded on it and are the figures we work to. If a university later changes a price for your intake, we will tell you before you are asked to pay anything different, and you may withdraw.

Where a figure has not been given to us, the page says "not stated". A blank figure never means free.

4Your account and your information

In short: Tell us the truth, keep your password to yourself, and send only genuine documents.

  • The information and documents you give us must be true, complete and your own. Universities check them, and a false document can lead to the cancellation of an admission or a visa, sometimes years later.
  • If we have good reason to believe a document is forged or altered, we will stop working on the application concerned and will not send it. Fees already passed to a university in that case are not refunded.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what is done through your account until you tell us it has been misused.
  • One account per person. You may not apply on somebody else's behalf through your own account.

5Payments

In short: Pay only the amounts shown in your account, only to the account details shown there, and upload your receipt.

Your application page lists every fee, who it is for, when it is due and whether it can be refunded. You pay JodaEdu, and we pay the university its part. You are asked to confirm that you have read whether a fee is refundable before you pay it.

  • Pay only by the methods and to the account details shown in your account at the moment you pay.
  • Use your payment reference exactly as shown, so that we can match your payment.
  • Upload the receipt or bank confirmation in your account. A payment counts as received once we have verified it; your account will say so.
  • Amounts are stated in Chinese yuan (RMB) unless the page says otherwise. Any conversion into your currency is indicative. Bank and transfer charges are paid by the sender, and the amount that must arrive is the amount shown.

6Protecting yourself from fraud

In short: We will never ask you to pay a person, or to pay through a chat message.

  • We will never ask you to send money to a personal account, to a member of staff, or to any account that is not shown in your JodaEdu account.
  • We will never ask for payment through WeChat, WhatsApp, a social network or a phone call.
  • We will never ask for your password or a verification code.

If anybody asks you for money in our name in any other way, do not pay, and tell us through your account. We cannot refund money paid to somebody else.

7Refunds

In short: Each fee says before you pay whether it can be refunded. Non-refundable means non-refundable.

  • A fee marked non-refundable — often a university's application or registration fee — is not returned, whatever the outcome of the application, because the university keeps it once it has started examining your file.
  • A fee marked refundable is returned if the condition stated beside it is met, for example if the university does not admit you.
  • If you withdraw an application before we send it to the university, fees you paid for it are returned in full.
  • If you pay more than you owe, or pay twice, the extra is returned.
  • Refunds are made to the account the payment came from, within 30 days of our verifying that they are due, less any bank charges we are made to pay to send them.

8Our responsibility

In short: We do our work carefully and answer for our own mistakes, not for decisions made by others.

We handle your application with care and within the deadlines we show. If we make a mistake that costs you money — for example we send an application late through our own fault — we will put it right, and our responsibility is limited to the fees you paid us for that application.

We are not responsible for the decisions of universities or authorities, for changes they make, for the loss of documents by postal or courier services outside our control, or for losses caused by information you gave us that was wrong. Nothing in these terms limits any right that the law of your country gives you and does not allow to be removed.

9Complaints

In short: Tell us in your account; we answer within three working days.

If something goes wrong, send a complaint from the Messages page of your account. Every complaint is recorded, cannot be deleted, and receives a written answer. We aim to reply within three working days.

10Closing your account

In short: You can close your account whenever you like; we may close it if these terms are broken.

You can close your account at any time from your account page or by writing to us. Applications already sent continue unless you withdraw them. We may suspend or close an account that is used fraudulently or in serious breach of these terms, and we will tell you why.

11Changes to these terms

In short: Changes apply to the future only, and we tell you first.

If we change these terms, we will show the new version here with its date and email you before it applies. An application you have already sent stays under the terms that applied when you sent it.
